Although our environment provide ample time and spaces for socializing and engaging with others, we also believe that it’s important to provide our clients with the privacy and comfort of their own room. Each room is well appointed and guests will receive a his/her toiletry kit, bath robe, and other accommodations to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Our program specializes in being able to use medications not only for detoxification purposes, but also to address all symptoms related to those who may have co-occurring disorders. Many stand alone detoxification facilities require that the client come with medications prescribed by their outside provider for detox. The problem with this way of doing detox is that the medications are not tailored to the unique individual or their symptoms, it is a one size fits all approach. At Diamond House we believe that no two individuals share the exact some symptoms as each individual is uniquely made. This way of viewing treatment allows us to be able to work with each individual by customizing their medications to their needs. We have the flexibility to work with you at your comfort level, and because we have a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner onsite, we also will be addressing underlying issues such as treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD and mood disorders. Medications are not included in the cost of treatment.
At Diamond House, we take pride in having a very low client-to-counselor ratio, which allows us to provide our clients with quality individualized treatment in order to ensure they achieve success in their recovery. This also creates a much more intimate environment to form connections with those around you which is also very beneficial in reducing stresses of the recovery process. Providing our clients with personalized one-on-one treatment in a safe, private and intimate setting is core to our mission and vision and a big part of what makes us very different from other detox providers and larger hospital-like settings.
All clients will receive an in depth Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation performed by either a Psychiatrist or a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner that specializes in addiction. This evaluation will be used to help in the assessment and diagnosis of any emotional, behavioral, developmental, or medical conditions contributing to substance use. The assessment will help us to diagnose and begin treatment for:
While at Diamond House, you will have access to individual therapy or trauma therapy should it be determined to be beneficial for you to begin during detoxification. We can arrange for you to see a licensed therapist that specializes in addiction to help identify areas to focus on in recovery. We can also arrange for a trauma therapist trained in therapies such as Brainspotting and Eye Movement Desensitizing and Reprocessing (EMDR) to aid in dealing with emotional trauma.
According to an article on opioids and chronic pain by the National Institute of Health, addiction will occur in 5% of those using opiates for pain relief when used over a period of 1 year. What many doctors do not tell their patients is that over time the body builds up tolerance to opiates and the risk of dependence increases as the individual requires higher doses for pain management. To get through dependence the body will need to go through opiate detoxification. Many people fear going through detox because they fear they will then be left in pain with no other choices. We understand that sometimes that is not an option and encourage you to speak to us to see if we can help find you alternatives to your pain issues.
