When my husband was admitted to Diamond House and I was very impressed with the atmosphere and caring nature of the staff. The facility takes on a very small number of inpatient residents which makes the facility feel like visiting friends or family vs an institutional feel that most people picture in their head.
I appreciated the facilities welcoming nature in allowing me to visit once a day and participate in select group activities with my husband. I also enjoyed how forthcoming the staff was with updates on my husband’s progress.
Without Diamond House’s influence I think the process to sobriety would have been much more challenging as they armed my husband with a lot of tools to help cope with the challenges involved and some much needed direction that we were missing in our prior attempts to sobriety. We are very fortunate to have Diamond house as a resource in the treatment of my husbands detox and the continued path to sobriety
The first step is the hardest…but admitting I had a problem and going to the Diamond House probably saved my life. The staff, care, cleanliness, food (chef!!!) and overall experience were TOP NOTCH! I am forever grateful the DH was the place I chose. After more than 5 years of struggling with addiction, I made the call to Vicky. She was so nice to me over the phone this first time we spoke even as she could hear me balling my eyes out on the other end. Make the call! It’ll be the best thing you ever did. It can only get better…and it will. Believe me when I say this is the place you want to begin the process of getting your life back. I still to this day communicate and interact with the staff. This is because they care and understand what you are going through. You’ll understand what I mean as soon as you walk through the door. Good luck and remember it will get better.
I came to Diamond House broken and afraid. Upon entering I was welcomed with warmth. I was given a safe place to catch my breath. I desperately needed help. I was granted genuine support & sincere care with empathy from people who did not judge me. They gave me hope and guidance with gentle strength. I left feeling hope; something I almost lost. They assisted with the transition into the next phase of my life. A life with choices, clarity and courage. I am extremely grateful I was led to Diamond House. I am grateful for the amazing people who helped me get up when I fell.
Diamond House Detox was a saviour for myself and my family. From my initial contact with staff members (via phone) to the present (weeks after discharge) all staff members have truly cared about their residents’ recovery and well being. The house is very clean and inviting, the food is marvelous (their personal chef is great!), and each resident has their own private room.
They have a detox program as well as a rehabilitation program and staff members will assist with creating a personal, tailored recovery plan for each resident. They also provide a strong foundation network that residents can contact even after they leave Diamond House.
I cannot thank Vicky and her staff enough for all they have done to assist in such a dire situation of alcohol addiction.
Today I am happy to say that I found Diamond House Detox. I had been struggling with addiction for almost 10 years around the time when the kind folks here came into my life. It was not the first time I had tried to get sober…
Thankfully I feel as if I have been given a new lease on life. The week I spent here at DHD allowed me to get to a point where I could see clearly for the first time in years. I didn’t feel as if I was jammed into a crowded room with 3 other men I didn’t know – I had privacy and my own space to get better.
I was given a unique program that fit my needs. A huge thanks to Diamond House Detox for helping me start out on the right path in my journey towards longterm recovery.
